Extra Power Points, Put Exactly Where You Need Them

Most homes were wired for how people lived twenty or thirty years ago, not for a kitchen bench running a kettle, a toaster, an air fryer and a coffee machine, or a home office with a laptop, two monitors and a phone charger all on at once. If half of that runs off one tired power point behind a double adaptor, it’s time for more outlets. Blaide Knox, Stuart Helmreich and the team at Elite Electrical do power point installation Brisbane wide, for homeowners, landlords and small businesses.

Every point is wired by a licensed electrician under Electrical Contractor Licence 1503699, so it’s done properly and signed off, not bodged by a handyman with a drill. We work out where the power needs to be, check the circuit can carry it, then fit it flush and test it before we pack up. You get a flat-fee quote first, and we’ll confirm any call-out fee when you book.

Our Promise On Every Power Point Job

We’re Blaide and Stuart, the owners of Elite Electrical, and we treat a single power point with the same care as a full switchboard. A small job done properly is the difference between a tidy wall and a tangle of leads across the floor, so we take the time to get the spot and the cable run right.

You get one flat-fee written quote, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice. We keep wall cutting to a minimum, patch neatly where we can and clean up before we leave. Every point we fit is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty for as long as you own the property.

The Power Points We Install and Replace

Every power point installation starts with two questions. What will you plug in, and where? From one extra double point beside the bed to a full bank of outlets in the office, we run the cable cleanly and finish it flush to the wall.

New and Extra Power Points

A new power point wherever your home is short, single, double or quad. Many can come off an existing circuit, while a heavy load may need its own.

Double and Quad Outlets

We upgrade a single outlet to a double power point or a quad, so you can retire the power boards and double adaptors hanging off the wall.

USB and USB-C Power Points

USB power points with built-in USB-A and USB-C ports, so phones and tablets charge straight from the wall and the socket stays free for something else.

Weatherproof Outdoor Power Points

A sealed, weather-rated outdoor power point for the patio, BBQ, shed or Christmas lights, built to cope with Brisbane sun and storm-season rain.

Replacing Damaged Power Points

Scorched, cracked, loose or warm points replaced, and the circuit behind them checked. If it goes further than one socket, we track it down by diagnosing the fault properly.

Dedicated Appliance Points

Correctly rated points and 15 amp power for an oven, an air conditioner or workshop gear, each on a circuit sized for the load.

See What Other Customers Say About Our Work

Even a one-point job means having someone in your home and cutting into your wall, so it’s worth checking who you book. We’re rated 5.0 from 180+ Google reviews, and a few short ones are below.

Power Where You Actually Use It

The best spot for a power point is where you’ll use it, not where the last electrician happened to put one. We look at how each room works, then place the points so leads don’t trail across the floor or the bench.

Planning a TV on the wall? We can put a power point behind the screen so no cord hangs below it, and our team can take care of the TV mounting on the same visit.

Kitchen Benches

Extra double points along the splashback so the kettle, toaster and coffee machine each have their own socket, with no adaptors behind the appliances.

Home Offices and Studies

A bank of outlets at desk height for the laptop, monitors and printer, with a USB point for phones so the desk stays clear.

Bedrooms and Bedsides

A point each side of the bed, ideally with USB charging, so phones aren't charging on the floor at the end of a lead.

Living Rooms and TV Walls

Points placed for the TV, the gaming console and the lamps, so the entertainment unit isn't running off one overloaded power board.

Patios, Sheds and Garages

Weatherproof points outside and sturdy outlets in the shed or garage for power tools, a second fridge or a workbench.

The Warning Signs a Power Point Needs Replacing

A power point should sit flush, feel cool and hold a plug firmly. When a plug falls out under its own weight, the plate is browned or cracked, or you hear a faint buzz or smell hot plastic, the connection behind it is breaking down. A loose or arcing point is a real fire risk. If anything looks or smells off, switch it off at the board, stop using it and give us a call.

Power boards stacked on one old outlet are the other red flag. They’re a sign the room is short on power points, not a fix for it. Adding proper points spreads the load the way the wiring is meant to carry it. If your switchboard still runs ceramic fuses or has no room left for a new circuit, a new board with room for safety switches may need to come first. We’ll quote any switchboard upgrade upfront, so there are no surprises.

Why Choose Elite Electrical?

In Queensland, installing, moving or replacing a power point is electrical work, so it has to be done by a licensed electrician, even for a single socket. Any new circuit we install gets safety switch protection as part of the job, and if the circuit a new point comes off isn’t protected, we’ll tell you before we quote and can price the RCD installation on the same visit.

If something we fitted isn’t right, our We Fix It or It’s Free* promise means we come back free of charge to make it right, on top of the Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. Blaide and Stuart founded Elite in 2024 with 15+ years on the tools between them, and we’re a Quality Business Awards 2026 Winner. You can read the reviews homeowners have left us, and while we’re there we can take care of other household electrical jobs, from lights to smoke alarms. It’s one licensed team for all our electrical services, plus aircon and solar.

Common FAQs

Got a Question About Power Points?

Almost always, yes. We run a new cable from a nearby circuit to wherever you want the point, keep the wall damage to a minimum and patch neatly where we can. Double brick and solid walls are trickier and take longer, but we’ll find a tidy way to get power there or talk you through the options.

No. In Queensland, DIY electrical work on your home’s fixed wiring is illegal, and adding, moving or replacing a power point counts as electrical work. It has to be done by a licensed electrician. We’re licensed under Electrical Contractor Licence 1503699, and every point we fit is tested before we leave.

Usually, yes, if the circuit and the existing wiring have spare capacity, and that’s how powerpoint installation in a bedroom, living area or office usually works. Heavy appliances like an oven or an air conditioner need their own circuit from the switchboard, so we check the load before we quote.

The cost to install one depends on whether we’re replacing an existing power point or adding a new one, how far the cable has to run, the type of wall and whether you want a USB upgrade or weatherproof fittings. Several points in one visit work out cheaper per point than separate trips. You get a flat-fee quote before any work starts, and that’s the number you pay. Our guide lists what a new power point costs, from a standard double to a weatherproof outdoor point.

Swapping an existing point for a new one is usually a short job. A new point off a nearby circuit takes longer, and a long cable run, a solid wall or a new circuit from the board adds more time. If you’re having several power points installed, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote.

Yes. We fit power points with USB-A and USB-C ports for bedsides, kitchens and studies, and weatherproof power points outside for the patio, BBQ, shed and Christmas lights. It saves running leads out through a window and keeps the outdoor setup safe and tidy.

Treat it as urgent. A warm, browned, crackling or loose power point usually means a bad connection behind the plate, and that’s a real fire risk. Switch it off at the board if you can, stop using it and call us. We’ll replace it and check the circuit so the fault doesn’t come back.

Our electricians fit power points across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and the Redlands, seven days a week, on the northside, the southside and everywhere in between. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our area, call us on 0418 645 757 and we’ll tell you on the spot.

It depends on the job, the time and where you are. We’ll let you know whether a call-out fee applies, and what it is, when you book, so there’s never a surprise. And the number on your quote is the number on your invoice.
