When you ask us for a quote, book a job, or let us into your home or business, you trust us with more than the work itself. You trust us with your details. This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We have written this so it is easy to read and act on.

What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It usually includes:

  • Your name and the name of your business, if you have one
  • Your contact details, such as phone number, email address and postal address
  • The service address where the work is to be done, along with site details, access notes, and photos or videos of the job site and the work
  • Details of the work you are after and any history of jobs we have done for you
  • Billing and payment information, such as the amount owing and records of payments made
  • If you apply for finance through one of our finance partners, the information needed to support that application
  • Information you give us in enquiries, quote requests, bookings, reviews and general correspondence
  • Records of your phone enquiries, including the number you call from and, where calls are recorded, a recording of the call for quality, training and marketing-attribution purposes
  • Technical information collected automatically when you use our website, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit (see the cookies and website section below)

We try to collect only what we need to quote and carry out your job properly. You do not have to give us your personal information, but if you choose not to, we may not be able to provide a quote or complete the work.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you wherever we can. This happens when you:

  • Fill in a contact form or quote-request form on our website
  • Call or text us, or speak with us in person
  • Book a job or accept a quote
  • Let us onto your property to assess or carry out work
  • Apply for finance through one of our finance partners
  • Email us, leave a review, or otherwise correspond with us

We also collect some information automatically through our website using cookies and similar technologies, and we sometimes receive information from third parties, for example a finance partner confirming the outcome of an application, or someone passing on your details so we can give you a quote. If someone else gives us your information, we rely on them having your permission to do so.

Why we collect, hold and use personal information

We collect, hold and use personal information so we can run the business and do the work you have asked for. In practice, that means we use it to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and prepare and send quotes
  • Schedule, carry out and follow up electrical, air conditioning and solar work
  • Manage access to your property and keep accurate records of the job, including photos
  • Invoice you, take payment, and keep proper financial and tax records
  • Process and support finance applications you make through our finance partners
  • Handle warranties, callbacks, servicing and ongoing maintenance
  • Meet our safety, licensing, electrical, refrigeration and other legal obligations
  • Send you service reminders and, where you are happy to hear from us, news and offers (see the marketing section below)
  • Improve our website and our service, and respond to any complaints

We only use your information for the purpose we collected it for, for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have agreed, or where the law allows or requires it.

Who we share personal information with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where it is needed to do the work, run the business, or meet a legal obligation. Depending on your job, we may disclose personal information to:

  • Customer and job-management platforms, and accounting and invoicing software
  • The IT and hosting providers that store our records
  • Our finance partners, Brighte and Zip Pay, if you choose to apply for finance through them, so your application can be assessed and managed
  • Payment processors and our bank, to take and reconcile payments
  • Suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors where this is needed to quote, source equipment, or complete and warrant the work
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed
  • Government bodies, regulators and insurers, and law enforcement, where the law requires or allows it, or to protect people or property
  • A buyer or successor, if we ever sell or restructure the business, in which case your information would stay protected under privacy obligations

When we engage another business to provide a service for us, we give them only the information they need for that task, and we take reasonable steps to make sure they are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations.

Marketing and how to opt out

From time to time we may contact you with service reminders, news, offers or other information we think may be useful, by email, SMS, phone or post. We only do this where you would reasonably expect it or where you have agreed, and we follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth). We honour the Do Not Call Register for any telemarketing calls.

You can opt out at any time. Every marketing email and SMS includes an unsubscribe option, or you can simply ask us to stop by calling 0418 645 757 or contacting us through the “Contact Us” page on our website. We will action your request within 5 business days, as required by the Spam Act 2003. Opting out of marketing will not stop us contacting you about a job you have booked or work we are carrying out for you.

Cookies, analytics and our website

Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site work and help us understand how it is used. We use:

  • Essential cookies, which are needed for the website to function, such as keeping the site secure and remembering your session
  • Functional cookies, which remember choices you make so the site works better for you
  • Analytics and advertising cookies, which help us see how visitors find and use our site, measure how our advertising performs, and protect our advertising from fraudulent or invalid clicks

We use a number of tools provided by third parties to run and improve our website, measure traffic, understand how our advertising and phone enquiries perform, manage our marketing tags, and protect our forms and advertising from spam and fraud:

  • Google Analytics, provided by Google, to measure website traffic and understand how visitors use our site
  • Google Search Console, provided by Google, to understand how our site performs in Google Search results
  • Google Tag Manager, provided by Google, to manage and load the tags and tracking tools used on our site
  • Google Ads, provided by Google, including conversion tracking and remarketing, to measure how our advertising performs and to show our ads to people who have visited our site
  • Google reCAPTCHA, provided by Google, to protect our forms from spam and abuse, which involves collecting device and usage information to tell real visitors from automated bots
  • Meta (Facebook) tools, including the Meta pixel, provided by Meta, to measure and improve our advertising and to help show relevant ads on Meta’s platforms
  • Fraud Blocker, provided by Fraud Blocker, to detect and block fraudulent or invalid clicks on our online advertising
  • WildJar, an Australian call-tracking provider, to measure and attribute phone enquiries to our marketing, which may include recording calls for quality, training and attribution purposes
  • Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft, to see how visitors interact with our site through aggregated heatmaps and session replays so we can improve it

Several of these tools may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site, and, in the case of call tracking, the number you call from and details of your call. Some of that information may make you reasonably identifiable. Most of these providers store and process information overseas, principally in the United States. WildJar is an Australian provider and stores call information in Australia.

You can manage or turn off cookies through your browser settings. If you block some cookies, parts of the website may not work as well. Australian law does not require us to obtain opt-in consent for all cookies, but we want you to understand what we use and the choices you have.

How we store and protect your information

We hold personal information in a mix of secure electronic systems and, where needed, paper records. Our electronic records are kept in business software and cloud services protected by measures such as access controls, passwords and, where appropriate, encryption.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of storing or sending information is ever completely secure, so while we work hard to keep it safe, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. For example, tax, financial and electrical safety records often have to be kept for a number of years. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers we rely on store or process information outside Australia. This means your personal information may be disclosed to, or accessed by, recipients located overseas, most commonly in the United States, where many of our software, hosting, analytics, advertising and payment providers are based. Before disclosing personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we remain accountable for it as required by APP 8.

Automated decision-making

We do not currently make automated decisions, using computer programs without human involvement, that significantly affect you. If this changes, we will update this policy before we start, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles requirement on automated decision-making that commences on 10 December 2026.

Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify who you are first, and we may ask you to put your request in writing.

In most cases we will respond within a reasonable time. If we charge a fee for giving you access, it will not be excessive and we will tell you about it beforehand. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will let you know our reasons in writing, except where the law says we do not have to.

How to make a privacy complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. Contact us using the details below, with enough information for us to look into it. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it, and respond to you in writing within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your complaint, you can refer it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

  • Website: oaic.gov.au (you can lodge a complaint at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints)
  • Phone: 1300 363 992
  • Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001

Data breaches

If something goes wrong and a data breach happens, we will respond quickly to contain it and assess the risk. We assess any suspected breach promptly, and the law allows us up to 30 days to complete that assessment. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm to anyone affected, we will notify those people and the OAIC as soon as practicable, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our business, technology or the law changes. The current version will always be available on our website, and the “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Any changes apply from the date the updated policy is published.
