Quiet, Steady Airflow for Long Brisbane Summers

A ceiling fan takes the sting out of a sticky Brisbane afternoon, costs far less to run than the aircon, and can turn a bedroom you can’t sleep in come February into one you can. Blaide Knox, Stuart Helmreich and the team at Elite Electrical handle ceiling fan installation in Brisbane homes, from one bedroom fan to a whole house full, indoors and out on the patio.

We handle the whole job, not just the bit on the ladder. Every fan is fixed to a solid anchor point, never just the plasterboard, wired back to the circuit and signed off under Electrical Contractor Licence 1503699. You get one flat-fee quote, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice.

Our Promise to You

We’re Blaide and Stuart, the owners of Elite Electrical, and we treat a fan like what it is, a spinning weight hanging over your bed. So we check what it’s fixed to before anything goes up, and we’ll point you at the right fan for the room rather than the dearest one on the shelf.

Your price is set in writing before we start and it doesn’t move. We test every speed, the light and the remote or wall control, and clean up the dust before we pack up the ute. The work is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty for as long as you own the home.

What Every Fan Install Includes

A fan that wobbles, hums or rattles is usually a fan that was hung in a hurry. Whether it’s one fan or six, every install with us covers the same steps, so it runs quiet and steady for years.

Ceiling and Fixing Point Check

We inspect the ceiling, the joists and the existing wiring first, so we know exactly what the fan will hang from and how it connects.

Mounted to a Solid Anchor

The bracket goes into timber or a proper fixing in the roof space, never just the plasterboard, so the fan stays put at full speed.

Safe Wiring to the Circuit

Your fan is wired back to the circuit to the standard, with every connection made and checked by our licensed electricians.

Balanced to Run True

We balance the blades once the fan is up, so there's no wobble, no ticking and no light fitting shaking on the top speed.

Wall Controls and Remotes

Speed controllers, a switch on the wall or a remote, set up and paired so the fan is easy to live with from day one.

Tested on Every Speed

We run each speed, the reverse setting and any light kit before we leave, then show you how the controls work.

See What Other Customers Say About Our Work

Hanging a fan means a ladder in your bedroom and someone in your roof space, so it’s worth checking who you’re letting in. We’re rated 5.0 from 180+ Google reviews, and a few short ones are below.

Choosing and Fitting the Right Fan

Most people choose between an AC fan and a DC fan. AC fans cost less upfront and usually run off a wall control. DC fans are quieter, use less power, have more speeds and usually come with a remote, which suits a bedroom where the fan runs all night. Blade count and material (timber, metal or ABS) come down to the look you like. We’ll talk you through the size and the controls that suit the room before you buy. Fans ordered online from overseas often don’t meet Australian electrical requirements, so it’s worth a quick chat with us first to check the fan is compatible and the right fit for the room.

Ceiling fans move air around a room, but they won’t clear steam. If the bathroom mirror fogs up every morning, our bathroom exhaust fan installation vents that moisture outside, and we can fit it on the same visit as your ceiling fans.

Supply and Install

We supply and install all brands of ceiling fan that meet Australian regulations, choosing one that suits the room, the ceiling height and your budget, so you deal with one team and one price.

Ceiling Fan Replacement

Your wobbly or noisy fan comes down, we check the mount and wiring it leaves behind, and a balanced, quiet new fan goes up in place of the old one.

A New Fan Point

We run a new switch leg or circuit from the nearest point, so you can have a fan installed where there's never been one, with its own switch on the wall.

Fans With Light Kits

A combined fan and ceiling light on the one point, ideal for bedrooms. If you're also after LED downlight installation, we can do both on one visit.

Outdoor and Alfresco Fans

Weather-rated fans for covered decks, patios and alfresco areas, built to cope with Brisbane humidity and the odd bit of wind-driven rain.

Raked and High Ceilings

An angled mount for sloped ceilings and an extension rod for high ones, so the blades sit where they actually move air over you.

Signs Your Old Fan Has Had Its Day

A wobble isn’t just annoying. It means the fan is out of balance or the mount has worked loose, and it only gets worse the longer you leave it, so get it looked at rather than living with it. A grinding hum usually points to a tired motor, and a fan that barely stirs the air, a remote that has given up or a light kit that flickers are all signs it’s time for a new one. Rather than paying to repair an old motor, a new ceiling fan is often the better spend.

Swapping several old AC fans for quiet DC fans in one visit gets the whole house sorted at once. On a recent Narangba job we replaced two old fans with DC fans and remotes, and while we were there we handled adding a power point in the living area, with everything tested before we left. If your board still runs old ceramic fuses, we’ll tell you upfront whether upgrading an old fuse box makes sense before a new fan circuit goes in.

Common FAQs

Common Questions About Ceiling Fans

Yes. In Queensland, wiring in a ceiling fan is electrical work, so it has to be done by a licensed electrician. That includes swapping a new fan onto an existing fan point. Our fan installs are carried out under Electrical Contractor Licence 1503699, and every fan is mounted, wired and tested before we leave.

Yes. To replace an existing ceiling fan, we take it down, check the mount and the wiring it was running on, then install the new fan balanced and tested. If the old fixing point isn’t up to scratch, we sort that too, so the new fan hangs safely.

For most bedrooms and living areas, yes. DC fans use less power than an older AC fan, run noticeably quieter and usually come with more speeds and a remote. They cost a little more to buy, but for a fan that runs most nights the lower running cost and quieter motor are often worth it. We’re happy to talk through the trade-off for your rooms, and our guide to ceiling fan installation cost shows where prices start for AC and DC fans.

The main things are whether there’s already a fan point or we need to run new wiring and a wall switch, the ceiling height and type, the fan you choose, any light kit or remote, and how many fans we fit in one visit. We quote each job at a flat fee, and that’s the number you pay. Brighte and Zip finance is available, subject to approval.

A straight swap onto an existing fan point is usually the quickest job. A new fan point with fresh wiring, a raked ceiling or an outdoor fan takes longer. Several fans can usually be done in one visit, and we give you realistic timing with your quote.

In most cases, yes. We check the ceiling, the fixing point and the nearest wiring, then run the new circuit or switch leg and mount the fan to standard. Every home has its quirks, so you’ll get a straight answer on what’s involved before any work starts.

Yes. Covered decks, patios and alfresco areas need a fan rated for outdoor use, because a standard indoor fan isn’t built for the damp. We’ll recommend a suitable fan for your space and install it safely, so the entertaining area stays comfortable through summer.

We install ceiling fans across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and the Redlands, on the northside, the southside and out west. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our area, call us on 0418 645 757 and we’ll tell you on the spot.

It depends on the job, the time and where you are. We’ll tell you whether a call-out fee applies, and what it is, when you book, so there’s never a surprise. And the number on your quote is the number on your invoice.
